Jaap Nim CD - 2007
My second CD dedicated to Thai Massage, and influenced by my time living in Chiang mai, Norhtern Thailand. "Jaap Nim" means "Soft Touch", the feeling of healing hands working on you in a Thai Massage. The Thai people are very understanding and aware of healing energy. This awareness is part of their cultural heritage, predating Buddhism, and assimilated by the Thai Buddhist teachings. Thai massage originated in Buddhist (and most likely, earlier) bodywork, which has a spiritual purpose to help relieve suffering in the world.
The CD is just over one hour, making it ideal for massage or bodywork session, or for some styles of yoga class. I use it for some of my clients who enjoy meditative music for their sessions. The artwork uses a photograph I took in November 2006 at the Loy Krathong Festival in Chiang Mai. This festival and Songkran (Thai New Year) are the most important annual festivals in Thailand. I hope you enjoy this music, and experience the soft healing energy which is very present in the people and land of Lanna (Northern Thailand).
